Tralee Peaks & Mountains

The Slieve Mish Mountains form a rugged sandstone spine at the eastern end of the Dingle Peninsula. This collection features the range's primary summits, centered around Baurtregaum, the highest point at 851 metres. Highlights include the historic Caherconree, home to Ireland's highest promontory fort, and the challenging Baurtregaum Horseshoe route. These peaks offer expansive views across Tralee Bay to the north and Dingle Bay to the south, showcasing glacial cirques and steep ridges characteristic of this Atlantic coastal landscape.

Caherconree

Caherconree at 835 metres, is the 20th–highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin scale, and the 27th–highest peak on the Vandeleur-Lynam scale.

Baurtregaum

The highest peak in the Slieve Mish Mountains at 851 metres. It serves as the central hub for the range's three main ridges and the Baurtregaum Horseshoe walking route.

Gearhane

An 803-metre summit forming the western arm of the Baurtregaum horseshoe.

Scregg

A 448-metre peak located on the eastern side of the Slieve Mish range.

Moanlaur

A 566-metre peak situated at the western end of the Slieve Mish range.

Mount Eagle

A 390-metre peak located to the east of the main Slieve Mish range near Tralee.

Knockatee

A 312-metre hill marking the eastern foothills of the Slieve Mish mountains.

Castle Hill

An 807-metre subsidiary peak of Baurtregaum, located on the range's southern ridge.

Knockbeg

A 344-metre peak located at the western edge of the Slieve Mish range.

Knockmichael Mountain

A 482-metre peak situated in the eastern section of the Slieve Mish range.

Knockmoyle

A 468-metre peak located east of the central Baurtregaum massif.

Knockbrack

A 459-metre peak on the southern slopes of the Slieve Mish range.

Gormagh

A 435-metre peak on the eastern ridges of the Slieve Mish range.

Knockauncorragh

A 598-metre peak located on the eastern ridge leading toward Baurtregaum.

Knockavaddra

A 373-metre peak marking the eastern extent of the Slieve Mish mountains.
