Carbon County encompasses a diverse landscape ranging from the 12,000-foot peaks of the Beartooth Mountains to the deep limestone walls of Bighorn Canyon. The region features the Beartooth Highway, a high-elevation scenic route, and the Custer Gallatin National Forest’s extensive trail networks. Historical landmarks include the 1921 stone Saint Olaf Lutheran Church and the 1910 Clarks Fork Bridge.
