Carbon County's Crown Jewels

Carbon County encompasses a diverse landscape ranging from the 12,000-foot peaks of the Beartooth Mountains to the deep limestone walls of Bighorn Canyon. The region features the Beartooth Highway, a high-elevation scenic route, and the Custer Gallatin National Forest’s extensive trail networks. Historical landmarks include the 1921 stone Saint Olaf Lutheran Church and the 1910 Clarks Fork Bridge. Visitors can observe native Montana species at the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary or access water recreation at Cooney Reservoir and the Bighorn River.
