This amazing royal monastery once belonged to the richest ones in all of Europe and it later became home to many rich young widows and spinsters.
The founder of the convent, Doña Juana, was born in this building in 1535 and her tomb is now located in one of the chapels. Among other interesting things to be seen inside, take a look at the fresco paintings and tapestries.
This place can be visited only by taking a guided tour.
Located just a short walk from the Church of San Ginés, nearest metro stations are Gran Vía, Sol and Santo Domingo.
