Kunst und Kultur in Manchester

Manchester Art & Performance

Manchester’s cultural landscape is defined by a mix of historic institutions and specialized performance spaces. This collection includes the Manchester Art Gallery and The Whitworth, which together house over 60,000 items from Pre-Raphaelite masterpieces to contemporary textiles. Performing arts are represented by the Grade II listed Royal Exchange Theatre, set within a former cotton exchange, and the acoustically advanced Bridgewater Hall. Large-scale touring productions find a home at the Manchester Opera House and Palace Theatre, while The Dancehouse occupies a converted Art Deco cinema on Oxford Road.
