Söderåsens nationalpark Essentials

Söderåsen National Park encompasses one of Northern Europe’s largest continuous deciduous forests, defined by dramatic rift valleys and steep scree slopes. This collection highlights the park's geological landmarks, including the 30-meter deep circular lake Odensjön and the 212-meter high viewpoint at Kopparhatten. Visitors can explore the Skäralid rift valley, visit the Naturum visitor center for ecological insights, or observe wildlife at the nearby moose park. The area also preserves traces of Mesozoic volcanic activity and serves as a key section of the Skåneleden hiking trail.

Kopparhatten

The highest point in the national park at 212 meters, offering a panoramic view over the 90-meter deep Skäralid rift valley and its dense beech forests.

Odensjön

A circular lake, nearly 20 meters deep, located at the bottom of a steep-walled cirque valley. It is surrounded by 30-meter high cliffs and linked to local folklore.

Söderåsens Älgpark

A wildlife park offering guided moose safaris, where visitors can observe moose and fallow deer in a natural forest environment.

Hjortsprånget

A narrow, rocky ridge and viewpoint overlooking the Skäralid valley. The name originates from a legend about deer leaping across the chasm to escape hunters.

Naturum

The park's official visitor center featuring educational exhibitions on the area's unique geology, biodiversity, and cultural history. Located at the main entrance in Skäralid.
