Viana do Castelo’s coastline and river valleys offer a diverse range of swimming spots. The Atlantic coast features wind-swept dunes and wide sandy bays like Moledo and Cabedelo, often characterized by strong waves suitable for water sports. Inland, the Minho, Lima, and Coura rivers provide sheltered river beaches such as Taboão and Azenhas de Estorãos, often set against lush vegetation, historic watermills, and Roman bridges.
