Church of the Assumption

This High Baroque pilgrimage church was constructed between 1737 and 1745 and serves as a dominant landmark. The building is historically associated with the Fünfkirchen family and was frequented by Archduke Franz Ferdinand d'Este. The interior is known for its frescoes and elaborate decorations, while the exterior approach features a scenic Way of the Cross and a collection of Baroque statues depicting various saints.

The structure is currently undergoing restoration following damage from a fire, with a public reconstruction fund active until October 31, 2026. Seasonal guided tours provide insights into the site's history, particularly its connection to 20th-century military conflicts. The church is situated near the town square, which contains a fountain and a monument dedicated to the victims of World War I.
