Established in 1876, this regional institution is situated in a monumental neo-Renaissance building. The museum manages diverse collections focused on natural history, archaeology, and art. A notable feature of the interior is the restored Císařský sál (Imperial Hall), which commemorates a visit by the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I.
The permanent exhibition Naši Němci (Our Germans) documents 800 years of history regarding the German-speaking population in Bohemia.
