Litomyšl Regional Museum

The museum is housed in a Baroque building constructed in 1714 by architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi. Originally serving as a Piarist gymnasium, the structure is now a cultural heritage site dedicated to the history of the town and the Svitavsko region. The permanent exhibition, "Litomyšl – city of culture and education," features archaeological finds integrated into the modern architectural design of the building.

Diverse collections include cabinets of older history, natural science, ethnography, and collecting. The museum also administers the Bedřich Smetana (a prominent Czech composer) Birthplace Apartment. The site is open to the public and serves as a major cultural center for the region.
