Golden Lane

This historic street dates back to the 16th century and is characterized by a row of tiny, brightly colored houses built into the castle fortifications. Originally established to provide housing for castle guards, the street's architecture reflects the compact living conditions of the period.

Over the centuries, the street served as a residence for various groups, including goldsmiths and alchemists. Notable historical figures have lived here, such as the writer Franz Kafka and the Nobel Prize-winning Czech author Jaroslav Seifert.

The area is open to the public and features a variety of exhibitions, galleries, and souvenir shops. Some of the houses have been preserved to offer a glimpse into historical life, while others house small cafes and specialty stores.
