Founded in 1952, this industrial architectural monument is recognized as a National Cultural Heritage Site. The complex is characterized by an "underground city" layout, featuring a labyrinthine network of roadways that extend for 120 kilometers. These galleries are situated up to 80 meters below the surface and include streets equipped with traffic signals to manage movement within the wine storage areas.
The site contains a national wine collection, a wine museum, and an underground cinema. Multiple tasting rooms are available for sampling various productions. The extensive galleries serve as storage for a vast collection of rare and historical wines, representing a significant portion of the region's industrial heritage.
Tours and wine tastings are conducted within the subterranean tunnels, providing insight into the history and production of the local wine industry. As one of the largest wine cellars in the world, the facility functions as both a tourist attraction and an active wine production center.
