Haakon's Hall

Built by King Håkon Håkonsson between 1247 and 1261, this historic stone hall is the largest secular medieval building in Norway. It originally served as a royal residence and banqueting hall throughout the Middle Ages. As a national cultural monument, the structure represents a significant piece of Bergen's medieval history and was the site where Norway's first complete set of laws was drafted.

Today, the building operates as a history museum and is open to the public. It also functions as a prestigious venue for official national events, royal dinners, and concerts. The interior reflects its 750-year history as a site for significant national ceremonies and feasting.
