Palau Macaya

Designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, this Catalan Modernist building was constructed between 1898 and 1901. It is recognized as a national monument and features a distinctive white stucco facade complemented by intricate stone sculptures and sculptural ornamentation. An interior courtyard is also a notable architectural element of the structure.

The building functions as a cultural center known as CaixaForum Macaya, managed by the Fundación ”la Caixa”. It serves as a venue for exhibitions, conferences, and debates, particularly those focused on the fields of social sciences and humanities. Architectural refurbishment projects have been undertaken to preserve the heritage of the site while adapting it for contemporary use.

The facility is open to the public as an exhibition and cultural space. On-site amenities include public toilets.
