Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi

Originally inaugurated in 1801 after construction began in 1798, this neoclassical landmark is one of the oldest opera houses in the world. Designed by architects Gian Antonio Selva and Matteo Pertsch, the building features a classic horseshoe-shaped auditorium with a maximum capacity of 1,300 people. It serves as a primary cultural hub, maintaining a long tradition of musical excellence and Italian patronage.

The theatre is notable for its rich operatic history, having hosted the premieres of several famous works, including compositions by Giuseppe Verdi. It remains the only venue in Italy to host an annual operetta festival, known as the International Operetta Festival. The building is wheelchair accessible and continues to function as a major performance space.

The seasonal programming includes a diverse range of opera, ballet, and symphonic concerts. As a significant cultural institution, it preserves historical performance traditions while hosting prestigious international productions.
