Originally constructed in 1891, this historic marketplace consists of open halls and serves as the largest open-air market in the capital. It functions as a central hub for over 300 permanent vendors and includes a Vendor's Arcade annex. The site is slated for upgrades as part of the OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project, which aims to revitalize the area and enhance the marketplace facilities.
The market provides a variety of goods, including fresh local produce, spices, and handmade arts and crafts. Other available items consist of handwoven beachwear and various dry goods. Specialized food stalls within the complex serve traditional Creole cuisine, making the hub a focal point for local trade and tourism product development.
