The museum is housed in the renovated sawmill of Pontechiesa and documents the history of the Regole d'Ampezzo, a centuries-old collective property system. This secular institution has managed the valley's forests and pastures for generations. The facility is one of three museums administered by the Le Regole d'Ampezzo organization and covers an area of approximately 381 square meters.
The exhibits include collections of artistic craftsmanship, traditional costumes, and documentation regarding the historical management of local woods and pastures. Through a series of objects and images, the museum illustrates the relationship between the community and its natural environment. The site is open to the public and functions as a private ethnographic and history museum.
