Originally a fortress, this neo-baroque castle was built in 1710 by the Fünfkirchen family and later owned by the Stadion-Tannhausen and d'Este families. Between 1901 and 1903, it underwent major renovations to serve as a summer residence for Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. While the building is currently a privately owned hotel and the interior is not open for public tours, the property remains a significant Cultural Heritage Site.
The castle is situated on the dam of the Hejtman pond and is surrounded by an extensive English park that is accessible to the public. The grounds feature historical statues and exotic trees, including a rare tulip tree. The site is also linked to the life of the poet František Hrubín and serves as a landmark within the region's network of cycling paths.
