Archaeological Museum of Macedonia

Established in 1924, this is the oldest and most significant museum institution in the country. It is situated on the left bank of the Vardar River. The museum functions as a center for the preservation and display of movable cultural heritage, specifically focusing on the history and archaeology of the region.

The collection includes more than 7,000 archaeological artifacts. These displays cover the chronological development of the area from prehistory through the medieval period and into the modern era. Among the items are exclusive world-class artifacts that showcase the cultural evolution of the region.

In addition to its primary exhibition halls, the institution maintains a rich library of scientific works. The museum is open to the public and serves as a major cultural institution for understanding historical development.
