Also a UNESCO site, the charming district retains its Moorish feel with the narrow winding streets and picturesque white-washed buildings.
But the difficult transition from Islam to Christianity also changed the architecture of this quarter – many mosques were transformed into churches with their minarets converted into bell towers. There is a hidden oriental feature in many of the buildings – just come and try to find it.
