Designed by Domènech i Montaner, this museum is dedicated to Antoni Tàpies, one of the best-known Catalan sculptors and painters of the 20th century Spain. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 88.

The museum houses an extensive collection of Tàpies’ work as well as artworks of other contemporary artists. It combines temporary exhibitions, symposia, lectures and film seasons. The museum also serves as a cultural centre.
