A true landmark of Salvador. This 22-meter high lighthouse was built in the 17th century to shine its signals to passing ships to help them avoid the dangerous waters.

Together with Santo Antonio da Barra Fort, these two buildings nowadays house the Bahia Nautical Museum with a collection of navigational instruments, miniatures of boats and with the displays about the history of Salvador.
