This small museum documents the history of the city of Budapest - from its beginnings during the Roman period till the modern days.
Also called the Castle Museum, the museum is placed on an intriguing historical location, too - the Royal Buda Castle itself.
Inside, you can find an extensive collection of artefacts and historical documents - as of 1995, their number has reached 400 000, and it is still growing. And the museum's popularity seems to grow, too. Since its opening in the late 20th century, the number of visitors has increased twentyfold.
