Located in the Dorsoduro quarter, this street is not only a popular shopping destination during the daytime but also the centre of busy nightlife after sundown when it starts to fill with youngsters from the two local universities, which are both nearby.
The street got its name after the 9th-century church of Santa Margherita, still standing today.
Apart from churches and historical houses, the street is lined with bars, pubs, but also restaurants and cafés. There is even a small fish market during the week. A great place to enjoy the atmosphere of the city, it even gave birth to a special kind of drink, called the Campo Santa Margherita Spritz.
