With its white sand, Carmel Beach is a rare sight in California. It attracts both tourists and locals who come for a walk along the sea or to enjoy a nice picnic. Beach fires are allowed on designated locations, volleyball games are organized regularly and the whole area is dog-friendly.
It is a popular surfing spot but not just surfers should be aware of the rip currents and rogue or sleeper waves. There are no lifeguard services, be sure you are safe while swimming in the sea.
