Marvel at this 7th-century dominant, said to be the first dome-shaped shrine to be built, can be seen from all over Jerusalem.
It's also a significant religious site, since it was built on the rock believed to be the place from which Muhammad ascended into heaven. Definitely worth the visit!

Apr - Sep: Sun - Thu: 8:30 am – 10:30 am and 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Oct - Mar: Sun - Thu: 7:30 am– 10:30 am and 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Closed to tourists: Fridays, Saturdays and during Muslim holidays.
During the peak season, plan on arriving at least an hour early since queues can be long and the number of people allowed to enter is limited.
