The Erdene Zuu Monastery is probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Located in Kharkhorin, Övörkhangai Province, it is part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. The monastery is affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
