This museum presents a complex and very varied collection of Spanish sculptures ranging from the ancient world to the 19th century. Accumulated by a passionate collector and sculptor Frederic Marès, it is one of the most important sculpture museums in the whole country. Housed in a former palace of the Inquisition, it contains not only sculptures but also crucifixes and other religious artifacts.
