Situated in the center of Old Town Square, this monument by Ladislav Šaloun is dedicated to Jan Hus, Czech influential reformer, priest, and philosopher. Officially finished in 1915, it commemorated the 500th anniversary of Hus' death. Historically, sitting by this memorial was used as a way of expressing disapproval with political regimes.
