Founded in the 8th century, this Shinto shrine is easily recognizable for its bright red color and numerous bronze and stone lanterns adorning it.
If you happen to be around during the Setsubun or Obon Mantoro festivals (early Feb and mid Aug), you are in for a breathtaking sight - the whole shrine is illuminated by thousands of lanterns.
