Lisbon Cathedral

Local nameSé Catedral de Lisboa
LocationSanta Maria Maior, Lisbon, Portugal

Built during the 12th and 13th centuries, Lisbon Cathedral is the oldest church in the city. Originally built in Late Romanesque style, it is now a mixture of different architectural styles due to frequent earthquakes and following renovations. Try to spot its Gothic, Baroque and also Neoclassical features.

Upon entering, there are many interesting sights to see, including Bartolomeu Joanes' private chapel and a 14th-century cloister that partially reveals the foundations of a former mosque that was originally built on the spot.
