Ever heard of panzerotti? If not, the Luini's is the best place to try this typical Italian pastry for the first time. If the rumors are to be believed, this takeout shop is what started the panzerotti mania in Milan after all.
This small bakery was first opened in 1949 by Giuseppina Luini. However, its owners boast a history of a long line of bakers trailing as far back as 1888. It mostly specializes in selling its trademark panzerotti, made based on a secret family recipe. They are always sold still hot, and offered in several varieties: fried, baked or sweet. You can also buy many other typically Italian baked goods here, like the meino or the pugliesi.
Since the shop is hugely popular both among both tourists and locals, expect long queues before being served. If you can, avoid visiting at lunchtime. You can get here from the Duomo metro station (lines 1 and 3).
