Housed within the grounds of the Palacio de Los Condes de Ayamans, the museum preserves many treasures from Mallorca's culturally diverse past from the Romans to the Moors and beyond.

The museum holds a fascinating collection of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque paintings with some of the oldest portraits in Mallorca. Other finds include weapons, spiritual items and ornaments from some of the first settlers on the islands. There is also a collection of Andalusian jewellery and pottery that belonged to an early Moorish family, and a wide collection of Islamic art.
