New Carlsberg Glyptotek

Founded by the Danish beer magnate Carl Jacobsen, this breath-taking collection showcasing ancient Greco-Roman art is the largest in Northern Europe.

The museum displays a great collection of Egyptian and Greek items, as well as Roman art. Apart from the collection of antiquities, the museum also contains a collection of French and Danish art.

Since it was originally a sculpture museum, there are many sculptures, both antique and modern, the most notable probably by Auguste Rodin. Other important works displayed here include paintings and sculptures by the French post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin.

The auditorium is used for a wide range of cultural events, such as readings, lectures, debates, or concerts. The museum is also worth seeing for its architecture.

The nearest bus stations are Stormgade (lines 12 and 33) and Tietgensgade (1A, 2A, 11A). It's also about a 5-minute walk away from the Central Station.
