This 180-hectare-large park surrounds a palace of the same name. In this place of relaxation, popular among tourists and locals alike, the visitors can take a stroll in the symmetrically designed gardens, as well as the less organised forest park. If you are careful, you may also spot a deer, rabbit, or a fox here.
Originally just a small baroque garden belonging to the royal family, the park was rebuilt and expanded in the French style into a landscape garden with pavilions, fountains and two lakes that it is today. The works and adjustments on the garden took nearly 2 centuries, from its opening in 1633 till 1865, when the last monopteros (a small gazebo made in classical style) was built.
The best time to visit the park is from Easter to mid-October, between 10 am and noon, or between 2 pm and 4 pm, as this is the time when the garden's many fountains are running.
