A multipurpose arena, originally built for the 1929 International Exposition. Important sports championships take place here, including the 1992 Olympic Games.
The stadium is named after Lluís Companys i Jover, the President of Catalonia from 1934 and during the Spanish Civil War. After the war, he exiled to Germany but was captured by Gestapo and Francisco Franco had him executed in 1940.
