Ote Gate

Local name大手門
LocationTokyo, Japan

This gate is one of several imposing constructions that mark the entrance to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace.

Like many other popular historical buildings to be found in today's Japan, it is but a reconstruction of an earlier gate, that was built in 1620.

The easiest way to get to the Otemon is via subway. It is but a few steps away from the Otemachi Station.
