Palace of Justice

Local nameJustizpalast, Landgericht München
LocationMaxvorstadt, Munich, Deutschland

This resplendent palatial complex is perhaps the greatest work of the 19th-century architect and painter, Friedrich Thiersch. Behold the magnificent central dome that reaches the height of 66 (some say 67) metres.

The building, designed in the Neo-Baroque style, serves as the office of the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice today.

In 1905, the palace was expanded upon by an addition of a new western wing. The red-brick construction, called the New Palace of Justice, is an excellent example of the Brick Gothic style of architecture.
