The existence of this church dates back to the 8th century when there was a monastery located at the site of the present-day church. Since then, the church was restored and rebuilt several times and it's no surprise that it is, in fact, a mixture of various architectonic styles (Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque) which makes it all the more interesting.
Concerning its interior, you should definitely check the many paintings decorating it and also the high altar by Erasmus Grasser. When visiting the church, consider going all the way up to its tower (climbing nearly 300 steps) from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city.
