This wonderful palace looks like taken straight from a fairy-tale, with all of its bright colors, decorative exteriors and lovely nooks and niches. No wonder it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located on the top of a hill, it offers splendid views of the whole city.
The town of Sintra makes for a great day trip from Lisbon. Easily accessible via train.
