In this cemetery, the largest one in the Paris center, you can see many beautiful tombs and gravestones. It is not only the largest but also the very first garden cemetery in Paris. Three World War I memorials are situated here.
Many famous people are buried here, such as Guillaume Apollinaire, Honoré de Balzac or Molière. The tomb of Oscar Wilde is surrounded by a glass barrier so the visitors would not leave the lipstick marks on the grave itself (which was a tradition till recently).
