This impressive palace surrounded by beautiful gardens is a definite must-see when visiting Copenhagen. It was built in 1606 and it was used as the seat of Danish kings for about a hundred years.
The castle was opened to the public in 1838 and it houses a museum which displays Royal Collections including the Crown Jewels and the Danish Crown Regalia.
The gardens are definitely worth visiting - especially in the summer when all the flowers bloom. It is, in fact, the oldest royal garden in the whole country. Be sure to save enough time for the whole complex, it is worth detailed exploring.
