A calm and beautiful monastery located just outside the bustling city.
When Napoleon invaded Spain, the monks had to leave and the monastery was used as barracks. Later it served as a ceramic factory. The place really has a rich history - Christopher Columbus also stayed here to plan his second voyage and his remains were buried here for about 30 years. No wonder it was chosen as a location for Seville’s Expo 92.
Now the complex houses the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art. Exhibitions and events take place here, as well as open-air concerts during summer.
