Outstanding Gothic masterpieces, these funerary tombs were built in order to celebrate the Della Scala family, rulers of Verona during the 13th and 14th centuries. The first built and also the most impressive one belongs to Cangrande, whose equestrian statue adorns the top of the tomb, visible from afar.
