This beautiful fountain was given to the Crown Prince Frederik and his spouse as a gift for their silver wedding anniversary and since then, it has become a popular meeting place. The pedestal is decorated with three sculptures of storks which seem to be ready to fly away - thus the name.
There is an interesting custom connected to this fountain: newly graduated midwives come to dance around it to celebrate their graduation.
