Visit the true staple of Copenhagen and a tribute to the great Danish fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen. Even though the mermaid turned 100 in 2013, she never lost her beauty and will be surely admired in the next hundred years, at least.
The mermaid is situated next to the Langelinie Promenade, which is a favorite spot for locals as well as for tourists. Obviously, there can be a line of people waiting for the chance to take a selfie with the mermaid, so it is better to visit earlier in the morning in order to avoid the crowds.
