The tower was built in 1574 and served as a lookout tower to protect the city. After descending 143 stairs you will be rewarded by a beautiful view of Trnava and its surroundings, including Little Carphatians in the distance.
The mechanical clockwork was installed on the fifth floor two hundred years after the tower was finished and till now it serves to tell time.
A tour of the tower also includes an exhibtion of the tower's and Trnava's history and its figures.
