Many cultural events take place in this spectacular Baroque palace. The palace was built for the Viceroy of Peru between 1761 and 1776 and it was named after his wife - "virreina" means vicereine in Catalan.
The palace was purchased by the City Council in 1944 and now it houses La Virreina Image Centre which aims to promote new cultural experiences. The schedule of this center includes exhibitions, workshops, and various festivals.
