Built on a steep artificial hill, the Buddhist temple is also known as the Golden Mount. Constructed by King Rama I, the huge golden chedi is home to Buddha relics and it is now one of the symbols of Bangkok.

Climb the steps to the cupola and take in the magnificent panoramic views. The chedi also hosts an annual temple fair in November.
