Kullu's Unmissable Treasures

Kullu’s landscape features a mix of 15th-century Kathkuni architecture at Naggar Castle and ancient spiritual sites like the Bijli Mahadev Temple, known for its lightning-prone staff. The region is defined by its vertical water features, including the tiered Jogini Falls and the secluded Jana Falls. Historical remnants include the high-altitude ruins of Raghupur Fort near Jalori Pass, while the South Portal of the Atal Tunnel marks a significant engineering link between the Beas and Lahaul valleys.

Bijli Mahadev Temple

Shiva temple at 2,460 meters known for a 60-foot staff that attracts lightning. The stone lingam is traditionally restored using butter after lightning strikes.

Naggar Castle

15th-century medieval castle built by Raja Sidh Singh using the traditional Kathkuni style of alternating wood and stone. It now houses a gallery of Himalayan paintings.

Vashisht temple

Ancient wood-carved temple dedicated to Sage Vashisht. The site is famous for its natural hot sulfur springs, which are channeled into separate bathing tanks for visitors.

Raghupur Fort

Ruined fortification built by the rulers of Mandi. Situated at an elevation of approximately 3,540 meters, it offers 360-degree views of the Inner Seraj valley.

Jana water falls

A natural cascade situated in Jana village, accessible via a trek through deodar forests. The area is known for traditional Himachali food stalls near the wooden bridge.

Falls 23m

A 23-meter high natural waterfall located in the mountainous terrain of the Kullu district.

Kho waterfall

A secluded waterfall located near the village of Sajla, accessible via a short forest trail.

Upper Jogini Falls

The upper tier of a significant cascade near Vashisht village. The water falls from a height of approximately 150 feet into a pool sacred to the goddess Jogini.

Tashi waterfalls

Natural waterfall located along the mountain slopes of the Kullu Valley.

Rohtang Tunnel South Portal

The entrance to the 9.02 km Atal Tunnel at an altitude of 3,060 meters. This engineering landmark connects Manali to the Lahaul-Spiti valley year-round.
